The graves of former German Prime Minister Helmut Schmidt and his wife Loki were violated by unknown people. Bild reports this.

A passerby found four swastikas on the tombstone. Nazi symbols were painted pink and orange on the names and dates of birth and death of the deceased.
Hamburg police admitted they did not know who might have violated the grave and did not understand the attacker's motives. The investigation is being carried out by the German State Security Service.
This is not the first incident with Schmidt's grave. On December 22, 2023, the swastika also appeared on the rock and had the same color. The drawings were done on the eve of the prime minister's birthday.
Helmut Schmidt led Germany from 1974 to 1982. Before that, he headed the ministries of economy, finance and defense.
