According to human rights activists, Steam violates the country's antitrust laws. It is alleged that Valve prohibits developers from selling games at lower prices than in other stores – which allows “monopolists” to set and increase prices.
If the claim is successful, Gabe Newell's company will have to pay compensation of 656 million pounds ($897.7 million) to British gamers. It is unclear how long the incident will last.
