Insider Tom Henderson says the partnership between IO Interactive and studio Build a Rocket Boy may be coming to an end. The latter released the failed action movie MindsEye, so the authors of Hitman were even thinking about refusing to publish games from third-party partners in the future.

According to insiders, Build a Rocket Boy itself will soon announce the termination of the partnership. Sources say MindsEye's authors are planning to start their own publishing house. Not only does this give the studio more control over its own future, but it also helps speed up the decision-making process.
Henderson also said the combination of MindsEye and Hitman, announced for summer 2025, will not happen. Instead, developers will continue to fix and update MindsEye. By the way, the action movie is still being promoted by the media – the studio still wants to revive the action movie that became one of the worst games of 2025.
Henderson emphasized that the decision to part ways belongs to Build a Rocket Boy, not IO Interactive. Note that the writers of Hitman may wish to terminate their collaboration due to the risk to their own reputations.
