Edmonton Oilers and German striker Leon Draisaitl carried the country's flag at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympic Games. The ceremony is currently taking place at the legendary San Siro stadium in Milan. Let us remind you that this will be the first Olympics in 12 years with the participation of NHL hockey players.
The Winter Olympic Games will be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22. During the Games, 116 sets of prizes will be awarded. It should be noted that 13 athletes came to the Olympics from Russia as neutrals, including Adelia Petrosyan and Pyotr Gumennik (figure skating), Savely Korostelev and Daria Nepryaeva (skiing), Ksenia Korzhova and Anastasia Semyonova (speed skating).
