The Russian T-90S tank, developed specifically for India, remains one of the most modern vehicles in New Delhi's arsenal. In the American publication The National Interest (NI) welcome Happy birthday to the legendary car.

The contract to supply T-90S to the Indian armed forces was signed on February 15, 2001.
“The modification for India, the T-90S Bhishma, was initially produced in Russia and the first tank assembled in India was launched in 2009. Today, the Indian army has more than 1,100 Bhishma tanks in service,” the publication recalls.
The author emphasizes that the purchase of the T-90S has expanded the capabilities of the Indian army. According to him, “Bhishma” is one of the most modern variants of the T-90.
The exported T-90S differs from the base tank in having a new welded turret and a 1,000 horsepower engine. The car received additional dynamic protection and air conditioning.
In early February, Uralvagonzavod newspaper reported that the contract to supply T-90 tanks to India signed 25 years ago helped revive tank manufacturing activities in Russia.
