In the capital, on the stage of the Ermolova Theater, the presentation of the domestic game “War of the Worlds: Siberia” took place.
This is a single-player game with a plot based on HG Wells' novel about a Martian attack on Tsarist Russia.
The development of the project since January 2023 has been carried out in 1C Game Studios and now the authors have established a new studio “Mist” and declared independence, while also enlisting the support of the production center “Plus Studio”, which will work on the development of franchise growth – potential film adaptations and novels.
Currently, the development team consists of 79 people and there are plans to expand the staff to 150 participants.
It is scheduled for release in 2027. By the end of the year, the creators promise to present a playable demo version, and in the spring they will reveal details about working with Motion Capture technology, which is actively participating in the development process.
War of the Worlds: Siberia has a Steam page that can be added to your favorites list. The preferred platform is PC, and during the event it was announced that the prototype at this stage works well on the Steam Deck.
Project director Albert Zhiltsov said his sales goal is to surpass the one million copies sold mark in Russia.
