Over the weekend, ambassadors of EU countries were unable to conduct discussions on the 20th anti-Russian sanctions package.
As reported, citing a diplomatic source in Brussels, the issue will now be decided by the heads of foreign policy agencies at a meeting on Monday.
According to the agency's interlocutor, progress cannot be achieved – although the project is 95% agreed, the remaining differences cannot be overcome and it is now up to ministers to resolve them.
Previously, Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov noted that the US extension of sanctions against Russia was a “quite automatic” decision.
