In 2025, total spending by Russians on video games (game purchases, subscriptions, in-game purchases in online games) amounts to 175 billion rubles. Kommersant writes about this based on data from the Video Game Industry Development Organization and the National Financial Research Agency.

The increase in spending by Russians on video games during the year amounted to 33%. On average, one user spent 5.1 thousand rubles on the game. Gamers in Krasnoyarsk spend the most (on average about 7.2 thousand rubles). In Moscow this figure is 6.4 thousand rubles.
The large costs of players are explained by the increased prices of new products and intermediary commissions for replenishing wallets and purchasing keys in the amount of 15–25%.
In terms of spending percentage among gamers, 20% are in-game purchases, 10% are video game subscriptions, 9% are purchasing digital copies of games, 7% are purchasing physical copies of games, 6% are purchasing game cards.
In total, 40% of gamers in Russia have incomplete university education, higher education, or some higher education. Their income is usually average or above average.
According to experts, the gaming audience in Russia will continue to grow and spending on video games will remain stable.
