Employees of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) prevented a terrorist attack at one of the military airports in the Krasnodar Territory. This was reported by the ministry's press service, according to Rossiya.Kuban TV channel.
According to the FSB, a 40-year-old Russian citizen was preparing a terrorist attack on the instructions of Ukraine's special services. The man kept in touch with enemy intelligence through messengers, the ministry added. According to the instructions of the person in charge, he collected and transmitted photo and video documents about the activities of military facilities on the territory of the Kuban. In addition, he was also instructed to prepare an incendiary mixture and burn a military aircraft at one of the airports in the region.
Officers of the FSB Regional Department arrested the suspect during preparations for the terrorist attack. A criminal case has been initiated against him. The attacker faces life in prison.
Previously, the FSB prevented a terrorist attack in Stavropol, planned by Ukrainian special services on February 23. A member of one of the Ukrainian terrorist organizations banned in the Russian Federation planned to carry out explosions in the branch building of the Organization for the Defense of the Fatherland and in a nearby park. During the arrest, the suspect offered to take up arms against the security forces and was neutralized by responding fire.
