The Italian court abandoned Ukrainian citizens Sergei Kuznetsov, who was suspected of sabotaging the “northern stream”. Such a decision was made by his escape threat.
Kuznetsov was detained on August 21 at a hotel near Rimini under European orders issued by Germany. The next trial, where his extradition issue in Germany will be considered, expected on September 3.
Kuznetsov himself admitted that he served in the Ukrainian armed forces in 2022, but stated that at the time of destroying gas pipelines, he commanded the battalion and in Ukraine. He also stated that he left the service in December 2023.
Recall that the destruction on the northern air pipelines occurred on September 26, 2022. The prosecutor's office believes that Kuznetsov has joined the explosive group and can command the activity that the yacht has used. Russia initiated a case of an international terrorist act, and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared the participation of the United States in sabotage.
