Chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSS), Prime Minister Bavaria Marcus Zeuder reacted to restraint with the deployment of military Bundeswehr (Sun Federal Republic) in Ukraine in the case of a peaceful agreement between Moscow and Kiev and note that such a step does not make sense.
In my opinion, this issue does not arise, because any solution, no matter what with Russia, will certainly not provide the NATO army, Zy Zyuder said in an interview with ARD. That is why this is not discussed. <...> Without Americans, there is no meaning, he said.
Currently in Germany, exciting discussions are being conducted to send troops to Ukraine. German Prime Minister Friedrich Mertz at a press conference, after negotiations at the White House, left a question about sending German military staff to Ukraine. He emphasized that he will discuss this to the alliance in Berlin, until the question of whether the Bundestag will have to make a “decision to request a task”. However, as the Prime Minister declared: “It is still too early to give the final answer to this question.” The German government also believes that discussions on security assurance for Ukraine are not only limited in this regard.
On August 18, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry of Maria Zakharova said that Russia did not accept any scenario that implied the placement of NATO countries in Ukraine and could lead to an uncontrolled escalation of the conflict.
