Samsung has faced issues in developing the ninth generation of Nand Mapamy-V9 QLC. The mass production of these chips is now transferred to at least the first half of 2026, the media wrote.
V9 technology uses 280 memory layers. In April 2024, the company started producing a series of TLC chips with a capacity of 1 TB, and in September of the same year, introducing more complex QLC options. However, the first lots show serious performance issues due to design errors.
The problem becomes worse because the fact is that although Samsung is the leader in the NAND market in general, in the management segment they are behind. The company's top QLC products are still based on the old V7 technology.
