The latest Windows portal is discovered from Microsoft representatives that expansion updates for Windows 10 security system, EXTATE's security updates (ESU) will be provided free worldwide. However, users in the European Union will no longer need to synchronize their OneDrive installation to access these updates.

Microsoft has taken such a step for the EU law. This is also influenced by EuroConsumers, a famous organization of consumers in Europe. In an organization's letter on September 22, it was reported that Microsoft changed the activation process of expanded security updates for Windows 10, but only for the EU, unlike the United States and other regions, in which the synchronization of OneDrive installed is compulsory for free access to ESU.
But at the same time, the supplier has appointed that to access ESU in Europe, Microsoft's account will still be required. If there is no account in the company's infrastructure, it will not work to receive update information.
