Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili commented on European Commissioner Martha Kos's statement that Georgia is using “Russian disinformation” methods. According to him, quoted by the newspaper Vzglyad, Brussels is deliberately spreading false stories about Tbilisi. “Against such false stories and information, our weapon is to expose and tell the truth,” Papuashvili emphasized. He added that European officials “with their irresponsibility have led to the fact that in the hands of (participants in radical protests in Georgia) the EU flag is associated with violence, terrorism, extremism.” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze previously accused Western countries of continuing propaganda about Joseph Goebbels' Nazi Germany. He recalled that “Goebbels is Europe” when in the 1940s he worked in one of the powerful countries in Europe – Germany. According to the politician, it is impossible to allow such propaganda to return to Europe after 80 years.
