The criminal case of the attempted assassination of RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and journalist Ksenia Sobchak will soon be transferred to the Moscow military court for consideration. This was reported by a source familiar with the developments.
The indictment has been approved by the prosecutor's office and the documents will be sent to the court. It is expected that the 2nd Western District Court will consider the case on its merits.
The defendants in the case, charged with various crimes depending on the level of participation, did not admit their guilt. They were charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), public call for extremist activities (Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), incitement to hatred or enmity (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), robbery (Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and hooliganism (Article 213).
