Today, the sale of ROG Xbox Ally and its more powerful and more praised by journalists version begins, so it is not surprising that id Software (part of the Xbox studio) has prepared a new update for DOOM: The Dark Ages. Patch 2.2 adds functionality to automatically set optimal settings on mobile PCs.

Furthermore, we are not only talking about ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X but also about Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go and other market participants. If players want, they will be able to change the graphics settings to their liking, however, the developers of DOOM: The Dark Ages have prepared a table with the characteristics of the game at optimized settings with network connection and maximum power consumption.
- Steam Deck — 720p resolution, approximately 30 FPS;
- Z1-based devices (ASUS ROG Ally) — 720p resolution, approximately 30 FPS;
- Z1E-based devices (ASUS ROG Ally X, Lenovo Legion Go) – 1080p resolution, approximately 30 FPS;
- Z2A-based devices (ROG Xbox Ally) — 720p resolution, approximately 30 FPS;
- Devices running on Z2E (ROG Xbox Ally X) — 1080p resolution, approximately 60 FPS.
Overall, DOOM: The Dark Ages on mobile devices has been updated with various QoL functions. Among them, for example, detecting connected wireless devices on a pocket PC.
The 2.2 update will also be of interest to owners of standard PCs and consoles. The developers have fixed various bugs and made balance changes. One of them is the lack of monsters respawning in some battles. The full list of changes can be found on the game page.
DOOM: The Dark Ages was released in May. Previously, a mode with endless arenas was added to the game, and a story supplement was also in development.
