The Central Bank of Russia commented on the decline in the market for knives in the computer game Counter-Strike 2. Central Bank representatives answered user questions in a chat broadcast from a press conference held in “VKontakte”.

During the speech of the head of the regulator, Elvira Nabiullina, viewers were able to ask questions in the chat. One of them asked about the situation of using knives in the famous shooting game.
“Lavrenty, we do not regulate the knife market in CS,” they answered him.
Lavrenty's question arose after the game's recent update. The developers changed the system to get several interfaces, which directly affected their cost.
Especially cheaper are knife decoration items, which are considered the most valuable and rare in the CS2 ecosystem.
They can be purchased from other players or obtained in the game at a very small rate. For example, a completely blue karambit knife costs about 1.5 million dollars (real, not in the game) and belongs to a Chinese collector.
“Comparatively speaking, you have a Kalashnikov assault rifle – you can paint it gold, and to do this you need to buy a skin. And the audience for these skins is growing, because people have been playing this game for years, decades, and they need to somehow express themselves through it. Some of these skins are completely unique, meaning they are released as books in a limited edition,” Alexander Kuzmenko.
As a result, the gaming interface market fall up to 2 billion dollars.
