Peak has received a new update that adds a new biome to the game and of course brand new badges and rewards. Cryptogastronomy is one of the new badges, but the requirements to earn it can be a bit confusing. PC Gamer Portal speakWhat do you need to do to unlock this achievement?
To unlock the Cryptogastronomy badge, players need to cook and eat ginseng. It sounds simple, but the main difficulty in achieving this achievement was finding ginseng. From the outside, it is indistinguishable from the regular healing root that can be found in the new biome, but it has a face and it will literally scream until the player hides it in the inventory.
When within the ginseng scream radius, the player will fall asleep. Even if the ginseng is pulled out of the ground by another player, everyone who hears the scream will fall asleep. You can escape this state with an energy drink, but it will return as soon as the drink's effects wear off. It's better to use medicine or fairy lanterns.
You can cook Ginseng on a portable stove or on a fire at the top of the map. By eating ginseng, players will receive healing effects and immediately unlock achievements. After completing the race, an additional reward will be unlocked – a unique hat.
