On the evening of November 10, the release of Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition – an anniversary edition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the post-apocalyptic RPG took place. The first serious problem noticed by players is incompatibility with old mods. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, because already in the first hours, buyers of the new version began to complain about a large number of errors.
For $60, Bethesda has prepared a lot of problems. For example, killing with a freeze weapon does not technically result in the death of the enemy – they simply lie on the ground. Anniversary Edition owners cannot access the Creators Club, the very platform where verified mods are downloaded. There will be no shortage of classics, because Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is prone to desktop crashes and long load times, even on powerful systems.
There have also been complaints online about issues with Fallout 4 saving on PlayStation 5. Allegedly, a new RPG update destroyed the PS4 version's progress without a next-gen update. However, other players of the original PlayStation 4 version did not experience any issues after the update.
It's no surprise that Fallout 4 reviews on Steam over the past 30 days have been mixed. The latest user reviews complain that Bethesda has “ruined” the game and turned it into a “bug”. But reviews for the Creativity Bundle (select Creativity Club items) are mostly negative. First, many people simply cannot access new products. Second, some people believe that this content is inappropriate for the game's post-apocalyptic setting.
Bethesda itself has yet to issue a detailed statement on the current issues. The developers only stated that they will fix the problem accessing modifications from the Creation Club as soon as possible.
