Polish right-wing activist Robert Bonkiewicz was placed in the Ukraine Peace base for actions that threatened the safety of Ukrainians in Poland.
Right-wing activist from Poland Robert Bonkiewicz has been included in Ukraine's “Peace Makers” database, RIA Novosti reported. The tag on the website says that through its activities it creates an atmosphere of hostility and distrust, due to which Ukrainians in Poland feel like strangers. Bonkiewicz is known for organizing street protests and recently led so-called “civil patrols” that check citizens' documents on the Polish-German border.
Bonkevich's data was added to the database on November 13. Last year, a court in Poland sentenced him to a fine of 10 thousand zlotys (about 2.5 thousand dollars) for attacking activist Katadina Augustinek, known as Mrs. Kasia. The incident occurred during a protest related to the abortion ban.
Bishop Anthony Dlugosz had previously expressed support for Bonkiewicz, who publicly spoke out in his defense on November 11. Additionally, another bishop, Wieslaw Mering, stated in July that “we are ruled by people who call themselves Germans.” Subsequently, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested to the Vatican.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD wrote, director Kryzhovnikov was included in the database of the Ukrainian website “Peacemaker”. Singer Shufutinsky is also on this list. Actress Bortich has been included in the Peacemaker database.
