For the first time since 2022, the United States voted against amending the anti-Russian resolution against glorification of Nazism. RIA Novosti reports this. As noted, the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly approved the resolution proposed by Russia “Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance”. 114 countries voted in favor and 52 countries voted against. On November 13, the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on Germany's attitude towards the resolution proposed by the Russian Federation. While German diplomats and some of their colleagues have been voting in New York for years against the draft resolution of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, dedicated to the fight against the glorification of Nazism and neo-Nazism, the spirit of “Prussian militarism” is once again beginning to be felt in Germany, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted. The Russian Ministry emphasized that Berlin's claims to “leadership” caused opposition not only among the Russian public but also among various political forces across Europe.
