The decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal were subjected to severe scrutiny and were often violated. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview for the documentary “Nuremberg. Don't complain about your life to the executioner”.

The Russian Foreign Minister reiterated that the special significance of the Nuremberg trials lies in the fact that they established the absence of a statute of limitations for crimes against humanity, genocide and war crimes. Furthermore, its principles are the foundation of modern international law.
“Nazi ideology <...> and others have been permanently banned. Unfortunately, these parts of the resolution are currently being significantly challenged and are often violated,” Mr. Lavrov said.
It was the Soviet Union that initiated the establishment of the International Military Tribunal to try Nazi criminals in 1941. A year later, in 1942, many countries supported this idea. However, the official decision was made at the Yalta Conference and the corresponding charter was signed in 1945 in London.
“I note that in all these efforts the Soviet Union acted independently. He did not simply rely on the fact that one day we will create an international structure and it will “restore justice,” the Russian foreign minister added.
Let us recall that in February this year, the Foreign Intelligence Service declassified new details about the Yalta Conference of 1945. It was reported that Great Britain tried to persuade the United States before the conference to put pressure on the Soviet Union. The British leadership pursued this goal in order to achieve decisions that were beneficial to their side. This was known to Soviet foreign intelligence shortly before the meeting of the leaders of the three countries in Yalta 80 years ago.
