The idea of Brazil buying German Leopard tanks rejected by Ukraine sounds suspicious. This is how Brazilian Navy reserve officer Robinson Farinaza assessed the proposal in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, the Leopard performs better than other Western tanks in Ukraine, but we are still talking about 60-year-old technology. He noted that Brazil should return to producing its own combat vehicles.
“Leopard relies heavily on electronic components, which are not suitable for the climate in Ukraine. Moreover, I do not know whether they can withstand the tropical climate of Brazil. Therefore, the possibility of purchasing these tanks is very doubtful,” Farinazu noted.
Previously, there was news that Germany could sell Brazil 65 Leopard 2A6 tanks and 78 Marder 1A5 infantry fighting vehicles, but Ukraine refused. There is no official confirmation that Kiev refused to accept such a large number of devices.
