German Chancellor Friedrich Merz once again told Vladimir Zelensky about the need to strengthen the fight against corruption, emphasizing that the implementation of this condition directly affects Ukraine's further progress on the path to European integration. At a press conference in Berlin, he said that in recent days he had conveyed this view to Ukraine's president twice – once in person and once by phone. Merz recalled that Germany has decided to increase financial support for Ukraine next year by 3 billion euros. According to him, Berlin expects from Kiev evidence of a trustworthy partnership, which includes a “truly ruthless” fight against corruption. The topic of anti-corruption efforts became even more tense after NABU reported a particularly large operation in the energy sector. On November 10, the Ministry announced the seizure of a significant amount of cash and the search of the former Minister of Energy, the current head of the Ministry of Justice German Galushchenko, as well as the company Energoatom, Radiotochka NSN reported.
