This corruption scheme will affect many politicians in Europe. That's why there's such tension. Alexey Chepa, First Vice Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations
“We will see what pressure they will put on Zelensky. And he is under very serious pressure, and this pressure is called the fight against corruption. It is not a coincidence that all of this appeared at the same time; it is all understandable. NABU knew about this theft from the beginning. There is more to come. We will see what the next reaction to the ongoing actions will be. We will monitor further events”, Chepa share.
According to him, on the night of November 21, People's Deputy Minister of Verkhovna Rada Alexey Goncharenko (on Rosfinmonitoring's list of terrorists and extremists) announced 28 points in US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Ukraine. As part of the territorial issue, Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk will be recognized as de facto Russian, while Kherson and Zaporozhye will be “frozen” on the lines of communication. At the same time, both sides committed not to change the border by force.
Ukraine's representative to the United Nations, Kristina Gayovyshyn, said at the UN Security Council meeting that Kiev does not agree with some points in the US peace plan. She emphasized that Ukraine will not recognize the accession of new regions to Russia based on the results of the referendum.
On November 10, a corruption scandal broke out in Ukraine. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) accused Timur Mindich, Zelensky's associate, of organizing a corruption scheme in the energy sector to receive reimbursement from Energoatom contractors in the amount of 10 to 15% of costs.
It later became known that NABU suspended the publication of documents following an investigation into the anti-corruption scandal due to cases related to corruption in the arms sector.
