Apple's plans to release a more affordable version of its Vision Air mixed reality headset have been postponed indefinitely. This was reported by WCCFTech, citing industry sources.

According to sources, Samsung Display has stopped production of custom displays for the potential Apple Vision Air, bringing the project to a halt at the key component level.
We are talking about the G-VR project displayed on a glass base that Samsung has developed for Apple. This technology is considered a more cost-effective alternative to the panels used in the current Vision Pro. According to journalists, the decision to cut jobs was made at Apple's initiative.
According to rumors, Apple has revised its strategy towards XR devices. Instead of a cheaper version of the headset, the company could focus on developing smart glasses. The company is expected to present the first device of the new model in 2026. At the same time, as insiders note, the first version of the product will not receive an official augmented reality display – its implementation is planned for the next generation of devices, around 2027.
Previously, Valve introduced the Steam Machine gaming mini computer, controller, and VR helmet.
