A group of 47 European lawmakers representing different countries wrote an open letter to US President Donald Trump, warning against making concessions to Russia in the process of peacefully resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The text of the appeal is available in the Kyiv Independent.

It argues that any “appeasement” by Russia and any attempt to put pressure on Ukraine is “morally reprehensible and a violation of human decency.” According to the authors, “coddling” Russia means abandoning common values and plunging the free world into “anarchy and anarchy.”
“Strong American leadership is the only hope. A fearful America can never be great again; a fearful America can never be number one,” the letter said.
