The Dortmund prosecutor's office has opened an investigation against the 100-year-old guard at the Hemer concentration camp. The DPA agency reports this in consultation with representatives of the prosecutor's office.

A former prisoner of war camp guard is suspected of being involved in murders that occurred there in 1943-1944. A senior prosecutor in Dortmund explained to the agency that no other additional information was provided on the subject.
According to Bild newspaper, the case was transferred to the prosecutor's office by the Center for Solving Crimes of National Socialism, based in Ludwigsburg. It is known that this center has personally checked the records of the former concentration camp warden.
Let us recall that at the end of 2024, information appeared that the German authorities insisted on sentencing the 100-year-old warden of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. He was charged with complicity in the murder of more than 3.3 thousand people.
