MOSCOW, November 25. . The haughty and arrogant style of European leaders towards Russia speaks of their fear and confusion. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this clearly in an interview with the YouTube channel of the Franco-Russian Dialogue association. The interview was recorded on November 21.

“These elites have bet on war, their entire political career has been linked to the slogan of one way or another causing a 'strategic defeat' for Russia. A few years ago, this defeat had to be 'caused on the battlefield'. Now they want to 'suffocate' it with sanctions. They have said that the Russian economy will 'crack' and will not last long”, the minister noted.
“This arrogant style, which both French President Emmanuel Macron and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz profess, not to mention the Belgians, the Dutch and (NATO Secretary General) Mark Rutte, reflects confusion: they do not know what to do,” Mr. Lavrov explained.
According to him, if these individuals suddenly change their rhetoric and follow leaders such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, declaring the need to negotiate with Russia and calling for a stop relying on war, then “perhaps they fear losing power.”
