Any confiscation of frozen Russian assets by London would be considered theft. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin.
“Perhaps it (the arrest – RT) will take place, or it will not take place… In any case, it will be theft of our property,” RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying.
Previously, on Tuesday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, at a meeting of the “coalition of the willing”, announced that the Federation was ready, along with the European Union, to use Russia's frozen assets to help Kiev.
Meanwhile, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke about the frozen assets, calling Western politicians “European thieves” and promising that Moscow would take tough measures.
