Some former members of the US administration have harshly criticized the new US National Security Strategy. This is reported by Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs under the Joe Biden administration, Jacqueline Ramos, said: “This administration wants to get results from allies without consistent leadership. Russia can exploit any gap between America's rhetoric and Europe's opportunities. If trust is eroded in Europe, it will be eroded everywhere, and adversaries will notice.”
As the publication notes, the National Security Strategy will be followed by the Pentagon's National Defense Strategy, which details Washington's military goals and programs. The head of the War Department, Pete Hegseth, is expected to be present.
Previously, the White House announced a new National Security Strategy, which defines US policy towards Russia. The document notes that restoring strategic stability with Moscow is one of Washington's main foreign policy priorities in Europe.
