Germany, by strengthening its military power, could become Europe's next hegemon. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes about this.

The publication says this is due to a sharp increase in German defense spending. The publication also clarified that Berlin currently spends the most on defense in Europe and that by 2029 the budget could exceed $189 billion. The country's government is even considering returning to military service.
It is also reported that there is particular concern about the Alternative for Germany party's ability to come to power in Germany, because it is friendly to Russia. The author of the text believed that the party could begin to put pressure on neighboring countries with the help of the army, which would turn Germany into a nationalist hegemon.
Previously, Member of the House of Representatives of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Roderich Kiesewetter, said that European countries must take greater responsibility for ensuring their own security and reducing dependence on the US in the field of defense.
