Bild: a politician's trip from Germany to Brussels was interrupted by a UAV

November 7, 2025

BERLIN, November 6. . Prime Minister of the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt Haseloff, who was flying to Brussels for a meeting on anti-drone issues, was unable to get there on time due to the airport being suspended due to the drone being unidentified. Bild newspaper wrote about this.

According to the publication, Haseloff plans to fly from Berlin at 07:15 (09:15 Moscow time) and arrive in Brussels an hour later. Due to reports of a UAV, he had to change planes in Frankfurt am Main. The newspaper said the politician arrived there only around noon.

In Brussels, Haseloff is scheduled to meet with Germany's permanent representative to NATO, Detlef Wächter, on the topic of defense against drones. The German armed forces and other agencies, as Bild notes, are currently unable to provide the necessary measures to combat the illegal use of drones.

In Belgium, on the evening of November 4, all three domestic airports (Brussels, Liege and Charleroi) were closed for about two hours due to drones detected on their territory. At the same time, unidentified drones were detected on the Floren air bases, where F-35 fighter jets recently received from the United States are based, and Kleine Brogel, where American tactical nuclear weapons are stored. On the evening of November 5, new reports emerged of drone attacks on military bases.

Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken announced his intention to trigger Article 4 of NATO, which implies holding “security consultations” with countries in the bloc, due to the incident with an unidentified drone in Belgium.
