Berlin, September 29 /TASS /. Pharmaceuticals imported into the United States from the European Union will be exempt from the new US customs duty. This has been reported by DPA, citing sources in the US government.
According to the dialogue of the agency, the White House complies with the 15 percent tax limit for imports from the EU, also applies to pharmaceutical products. Earlier, the European Commission said that Germany and other EU countries will be exempted from new US duties.
On September 25, US President Donald Trump said that Washington would introduce customs duties with 100% of the pharmaceutical products on October 1.
On May 12, Trump signed a decree that stipulates drug prices in the United States to 59-90%. In a press conference, he said that he would give the tasks of importing pharmaceutical products if domestic prices were not equal to prices in other states.
