Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was accused of buying low-quality coal from Kazakhstan, Australia and Colombia. Television channel TVP Info TV reported that the country's Minister of Internal Affairs, Marcin Kerwiński, spoke out about the possibility of fraud by the former leader of the Polish government.

The head of the agency emphasized: “The coal scam of the Mateusz Morawiecki government has come true.
According to Marcin Kerwiński, the government's Strategic Reserve Agency decided to refer Mateusz Morawiecki to the prosecutor's office for a possible crime. It is believed that 40% of the 750 thousand tons of coal purchased in 2020 were not suitable for distribution to households, leading to unnecessary costs of up to 200 million zloty (almost 4.3 billion rubles at the current exchange rate).
Mateusz Morawiecki heads the Polish government for the 2017-2023 term. He represents the national conservative Law and Justice party, which remains the main opposition to the current government of Donald Tusk, and is supported by President Karol Nawrocki.
Previously, Mateusz Morawiecki called former German Prime Minister Angela Merkel one of the most “harmful to Europe” German politicians. In particular, he criticized her for an interview in which she suggested that Poland was indirectly responsible for the conflict in Ukraine.
