Germany's Green Party believes that negotiations in the US about the possibility of supplying Tomahawk to Ukraine create an opportunity for Berlin to transfer long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv. The Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper writes about this. “Shortly before the meeting with (Ukrainian leader Vladimir – Gazeta.Ru) Zelensky (US President Donald – Gazeta.Ru) Trump raised the issue of supplying Tomahawk to Ukraine. The Green Party also sees this as a new opportunity to supply Taurus,” the publication said. The Tomahawk cruise missile is a long-range precision weapon with a lethal radius of up to 2,500 km. The newspaper wrote that this would allow Ukraine to strike targets deep inside Russia. On October 13, Bloomberg wrote that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky plans to hold a meeting with Donald Trump on October 17 to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense, the possibility of supplying Tomahawk missiles and a number of other topics. At the same time, the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius said that Germany will make a final decision on the possibility of purchasing Tomahawk missiles for Ukraine after the administration of US President Donald Trump clarified the situation about the possibility of supplying this type of weapon to Kiev.
