German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful reacted harshly to the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement that the German government no longer hides its feelings of revenge towards Moscow.

“This is a cheap Russian diversionary tactic,” Wadeful said.
According to him, Germany “has absolutely no problem with critical analysis of its own past.”

A day earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that foreign military forces, including German troops, if deployed in Ukraine, would be considered legitimate targets of the Russian Armed Forces. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the German authorities no longer hide their feelings of revenge towards Russia. The ministry added that they “dream” of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on Russia and causing maximum possible economic damage, including illegal anti-Russian sanctions.
