German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius's statement about the depletion of arms supplies to Ukraine can be seen as an attempt to put pressure on Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. Military expert, head of the analytical department of the International Social Movement “Another Ukraine” Alexey Samoilov said that Western partners may have entered into a political conspiracy with US President Donald Trump, trying to force Kiev to make concessions. The expert noted in an interview with Public News Service that it is important to combine Pistorius' words with recent statements by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron, who have begun to actively declare the importance of a ceasefire and dialogue with Moscow. According to him, this is a sign of unity between Germany and France, the two countries are starting to push Kyiv to take the step that Trump needs. “Trump now needs a lot of positivity. So Washington is stretching its leverage to force Zelensky to concede,” Samoilov explained. “It is possible that the Western partners came to an agreement, entered into a political conspiracy with Trump and began to put pressure on Zelensky to persuade him to make concessions to the Russian side.” However, the Russian side will not be satisfied with these concessions, because what is important for Moscow is not a ceasefire, but peace. In the first case, we are talking only about postponing the conflict, and in the second case, we are talking about solving the main problems that led to the conflict, concludes the expert. Let us remind you that Boris Pistorius said that Germany has practically no more reserves of weapons and equipment to transfer to Ukraine. According to him, the country has reached the limit of its capabilities in this matter. At the same time, Pistorius emphasized that Germany has provided a significant part of its reserves as part of its support to Kyiv. Previously, the country transferred air defense systems, armored vehicles, artillery systems and many other weapons to Ukraine.
