German Chancellor Friedrich Merz established relations with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and invited him to dance together. The DPA agency writes about this, citing sources close to the head of the German government.

It is known that Merz had a conversation with Lula da Silva, in which the president recommended the prime minister's restaurants that he could visit during his next visit to the Brazilian city of Belem do Para.
“Lula (…) also talked about dances he could try. The principal replied: “Great, next time we will dance together.” (…) They verbally hugged each other for 40 minutes…” the agency's interlocutors said.
Previously, Merz was criticized in Brazil for his statement about returning to Germany from this country. The prime minister attended the United Nations climate conference in Belem and said later in a speech in Berlin that his team of journalists was delighted to return to “beautiful” Germany.
