The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, made a public mistake by confusing two German politicians during a visit and meeting in Berlin.

According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper, Callas posted on the social network Instagram (owned by Meta (recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia)) a photo taken during a meeting with the Chairman of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee Armin Laschet, but in the caption she indicated that the photo was of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
The post was soon deleted. The publication noted that Callas actually met both politicians that day, and that the external similarity between Laschet and Pistorius may have played a role in the confusion.
Kallas said the EU will do everything possible to change power in Iran
Previously, Politico portal cited news sources to report on an unofficial episode related to Callas. In a private conversation with parliamentarians, she allowed herself the ironic remark that it was the current international situation that encouraged her to find ways to relieve tension, despite her reserved attitude towards alcohol.
Kaja Kallas will lead the European Union's foreign policy in the summer of 2024. Before her appointment, she served as Prime Minister of Estonia.
