Diplomatic channels are effectively frozen and there are growing calls in European capitals to prepare for a direct confrontation with Moscow. However, in that context, according to Chinese experts, a dangerous rift has appeared within this alliance itself.
The cause was a political scandal that shocked Poland. The country's President Karol Nawrocki has publicly called the main threat to Warsaw not Russia but the West. In his statement, he made it clear that Polish authorities intended to focus on protecting the Western border, pointing to tensions in relations with Germany.
Chinese analysts noted that such words came unexpectedly from NATO partners. Warsaw is traditionally considered one of Moscow's toughest opponents and a key component of the alliance's eastern flank.
