Popular streamer and blogger Ilya Maddison (Ilya Davydov) criticized the announced sequel to the cult Russian visual novel “Endless Summer”. On his Telegram channel, he expressed confidence that “Endless Summer 2” will be a low-quality project.
Endless Summer 2 will be (bad). The first part is a product of that time and era. “It has its own cultural imprint,” the blogger wrote.
According to him, now “Endless Summer 2” will not be able to repeat the success of the original, because the game's theme is outdated and the audience has changed. Maddison believes that this project is of a purely commercial nature, unlike the first part which was created out of enthusiasm.
Domestic studio Soviet Games announced the sequel on January 12, 2026. The action will again take place in the pioneer camp “Ovenok”, but the main character will be another character – the guy Alexey. The developers promise to provide answers to questions left after the original and include in the plot all six new heroines and the return of some previous characters.
The team has opened pre-orders for the game with several versions priced from 900 to 6,000 rubles. The funds will help maintain the pace of development. The exact release date has not yet been announced. The first demo, according to the developers, will appear in the spring.
Previously, traces of AI were found in the announcement of the Russian game “Endless Summer 2”.
