The Office of the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation has recognized the Ukrainian company GSC Game World as an unpopular company in Russia – the studio best known as the developer of the hit video game series STALKER About this report is related to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

As the ministry explains, GSC Game World's “focus of interests” is funding the Armed Forces of Ukraine and “forming a negative image of Russia.” In addition, the company itself had previously announced a fundraising drive to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the Ukrainian organization “Return to Life” International Charity Foundation – the activities of which have been considered undesirable in Russia.
“In 2022, the organization's leadership transferred approximately $17 million to the Ukrainian Military Support Fund, which was used to purchase attack drones, their parts and vehicles, and in 2024 they released a computer game that promoted narratives about Ukraine and contained aggressive content about Russians,” the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Obtaining such status requires certain restrictions on GSC Game World on the territory of Russia – a ban on the creation of parts and distribution of informational materials. At the same time, the company previously refused to sell games in Russia, and also closed its groups on Russian social networks.
