A sharp increase in SanDisk drive prices has been recorded in the US retail market. Overnight, the prices of these devices have more than doubled, as reported by a Reddit forum user with the nickname LilScarface609, who works at one of the electronics stores in the US.

Judging by the published photos, in just one day the price of a portable SanDisk SSD more than doubled – from 130 USD to 286 USD (from 9.9 to 21.8 thousand rubles). Similar dynamics were observed in other categories: the SanDisk 2 TB external SSD increased in price from 200 USD to 520 USD (from 15.2 to 39.6 thousand rubles).
Later, users reported that the price increase also affected memory cards. As an example, he cited a SanDisk microSD 128 GB, which the day before was sold for 18.99 USD (about 1.4 thousand rubles) and is now offered at a price of 66.99 USD (about 5.1 thousand rubles).
The sharp increase in prices is due to the crisis in the memory market. Demand from the artificial intelligence sector has led to shortages of storage devices, RAM, and graphics cards. The remaining devices are sold at high prices.
It was previously reported that rising RAM prices were starting to limit demand.
