Blogger and data miner Maxim Gabe Follower Poletaev shared new information about the process of returning Cache tokens to Counterattack 2.

According to him, developers have only recently started engaging outsourcing studios to create art assets, textures, and models.
Valve is remaking Cache from the ground up. This is most likely due to poor optimization, but it's possible that Valve has a higher quality bar since this is one of the most popular maps in history.
The blogger suggests that the updated version of the location may only appear in the game during the next rotation of the map pool or closer to the end of the current year.
Valve has confirmed that they are working on bringing Cache back to the competitive pool. It was originally expected that the studio would do a remake based on the original creator of the map, but plans appear to have changed.
