HoYoverse, the developer of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, is gearing up to release several projects, and cozy life simulator Petit Planet is perhaps one of the most interesting. PC Gamer Portal speakWhat is known about the game at the moment.

Little Planet release date
While Petit Planet doesn't have an exact date or even an approximate release date, we can make some guesses based on the chronology of previous HoYovers games. As a result, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero launched about two years after their first trailers, and both games went through a total of three rounds of beta testing. It's not realistic that Petit Planet will have to wait that long either, but it's still a possibility.
Speaking of beta testing, Petit Planet's first closed testing has begun November 7, 2025; All invitations were sent out by November 12. So, if you haven't received the desired letter, there's nothing you can do – you won't be able to participate in the first round of testing anymore. And the second, judging by past HoYo games, will likely be at least another year away.
Register in advance
You can already pre-register at Petit Planet on the official site website project. Although the developer has not said what rewards early subscribers will receive, it is common for users to receive in-game items and resources as gifts. Normally, such rewards are unlocked post-release but HoYo has not confirmed anything about Petit Planet yet.
Mechanics and gameplay
Petit Planet is a sweet, meditative life simulation game, inspired by games like Hello Kitty Island Adventure or Disney Dreamlight Valley. But the main inspiration is of course the Animal Crossing series, from which HoYoverse has drawn a lot of ideas.
- Players will be able to grow plants, fish, mine ore, cook, craft items, and search for treasure on the beach.

At the same time, Petit Planet also made initial discoveries.

- It is possible to invite neighbors to new worlds to use their skills.
- Rewards are given not only for achievements but also for progress in a neighbor's personal plot.
- Plants need to be cared for to avoid being damaged by pests.
- Fishing in salt water will be more difficult.
- You can craft items in batches.
- Photo mode will appear upon release.
Multiplayer and co-op
More multiplayer features are likely to appear in future betas, but in the first test, Petit Planet's multiplayer includes two modes – the galactic market (social hub) and walking on other players' planets.
At the market, players can play musical instruments together, compete in a rhythm mini-game, trade items, and just chat in the cafe. Furthermore, the cafe can be set to private, just for friends, or open to everyone.
Walking on alien planets is another optional feature, but again, those who don't want to welcome guests can make their planet private. And even if you let other players in, they won't be able to collect resources without the world owner's permission.
