The capital's court convicted a 51-year-old man of murdering his nephew in an apartment on Tvardovsky Street. The defendant was sentenced to 17 years in prison. The head of the press service of the capital's prosecutor's office, Lyudmila Nefedova, told Vechernaya Moscow about this on Tuesday, November 11.
— Based on evidence presented by the state prosecutor of the Moscow prosecutor's office, a verdict was given against a 51-year-old resident of the capital. He was convicted under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. Nefedova said article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of a minor).
The attacker will serve his sentence in a maximum security facility. The man committed the crime on April 5 this year. While drunk, he grabbed his nephew's leg and hit his head twice against the wall. The baby boy born in 2023 died on the spot due to severe injuries.
The man was detained and opened a criminal case. At the time the victim was murdered, the child's grandmother was also present in the apartment. She was also drunk before.
