ABC reported that in downtown Chicago, a shooting occurred after lights were lit on the city's Christmas tree.

Police clarified the incident that occurred on the evening of November 21. The shooting injured eight people and a 14-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
As the channel noted, law enforcement officers patrolling the North State Street area initially noticed a large group of people near the Chicago Theater. The police heard gunshots and the townspeople there fled. Seven people were injured.
Less than an hour later, police received a report of a shooting in the 100 block of South Dearborn Street. There they found two injured people. One of them is a 14-year-old teenager. The TV channel reported that the second case was an 18-year-old boy hospitalized in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Previously, in the city of Concord, North Carolina, USA, there was also a shooting during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Four people were injured by gunshots and were taken to the hospital.
