Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the Republic of Poland Wieslaw Szczepanski told reporters that since the beginning of winter in Poland, 54 people have died due to low temperatures.

Szczepanski quoted the words RIA Novosti.
This official said that the severe cold spell in this country is currently reaching its peak. In addition to the dead, authorities also have information about 36 victims of hypothermia.
Szczepanski noted that victims of the weather are often people who spend the night in abandoned houses and unheated rooms.
“Once again, we call on everyone to ensure that people living in abandoned buildings move to places with higher temperatures,” the deputy minister said.
He also warned that next night will be the coldest since the beginning of winter.
Previously, AP news agency reported that at least 85 people died due to severe frost in the US.
