At St. Petersburg, investigators have ended the criminal investigation into four men who were on a mission to kidnap a teenager. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

The men were charged under Articles 126 (“Kidnapping”) and 163 (“Extortion”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Their case with the approved indictment was sent to the court for consideration of the facts.
According to investigators, on the evening of March 6, the three defendants kidnapped a teenager, put him in a car and drove with him until March 7, beating him and demanding that he give them 1.5 million rubles. The boy called his father and asked to transfer him 300 thousand rubles.
After receiving a transfer to a bank card, the student withdrew 174 thousand rubles from the ATM and handed it over to the attackers, transferring 126 thousand rubles through a cryptocurrency exchange and promising to pay the remaining amount later. On March 7, he was released in Sestroretsk. Law enforcement officers discovered that the attackers had received an assignment through a messenger to attack a teenager who had committed money embezzlement.
Previously it was reported that a criminal movement of “sportsmen” had appeared in Russia, whose members beat drug couriers – those who defraud stores and embezzle money or drugs.
